The Motor Transport Association of Connecticut (MTAC) has announced that they have hired John Blair to serve as their next president. Mr. Blair will join MTAC beginning on October 1, where he will work concurrently with the outgoing president, Joe Sculley, for a two-month period, before Sculley’s departure.

“I am excited for the opportunity to lead this great organization,” said Blair. “In addition to continuing MTAC’s fierce advocacy and public relations efforts, I will ensure that we also focus on growing MTAC’s programs that save members time and money, such as their commercial “safety group” insurance program, and the drug and alcohol testing program,” he added.

MTAC’s current Chairwoman, Helen Brooks from FedEx, said, “John brings a breadth of educational and professional experience to the President’s role that will serve the MTAC membership well. I am confident that he will be successful.”

Axel Carrion from UPS, who served as Chairman of the Executive Search Committee, added, “John emerged from a group of other qualified candidates, and we are very pleased that he will be joining us. His work at the capitol over the last several years is one of the things that really stood out to the Search Committee.”

Immediately prior to joining MTAC, John served as Associate Counsel / Government Relations for CBIA. He has also been the Principle of Blair Law LLC, Counselor at Law/Government Relations at Brown Rudnick, and was the Chief of Staff at the Office of Health Care Access.

He will become just the 6th person to hold the title of MTAC President in the 102 year history of the organization.
