Tristate Truck Driving Championships

The Trucking Associations of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are excited to announce the 2024 Tristate Truck Driving Championships. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 8 at the FedEx Freight facility at 130 Old County Circle in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

We encourage you to bring family and friends to this event. This year’s field competition starts at 10 a.m., with the awards program scheduled to start around 4 p.m. (The driver roll call is set for 7:30 a.m. sharp.)

The registration fee is $145 per driver.

Those drivers who win their class at the state level will have the chance to compete nationally. This year’s ATA Nationals will be held August 21-24, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

After the registration is submitted, monitor your inbox for an invoice. Payment can be made online via credit card or check. Drivers will not be allowed to participate if the invoice is not paid before the event.

Driver Eligibility

Only drivers employed by Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut trucking association member companies can compete in the state championships to satisfy eligibility for participation in the American Trucking Associations’ National Championships.

Drivers must have performed the regular duties of a professional truck driver for a minimum of 1,200 hours annually and spent no less than 60 percent of their work hours performing driver duties. The entering employer shall be the driver’s primary employer, and the driver must have been employed by the entering employer for at least 12 months prior. The driver must have performed the regular duties of a driver for at least 11 out of those 12 months.

To compete in the Tristate Truck Driving Championships, drivers must be “occupationally domiciled” in Connecticut, Rhode Island or Massachusetts or live in Connecticut, Rhode Island or Massachusetts.

Each driver must be accident-free, employed by their entering motor carrier, and away from work for no more than 30 days between August 15, 2023, and June 5, 2024.

Contestants shall be appropriately licensed to operate vehicles within their class of competition and be medically qualified.
