Registration is now open for the 97th Motor Transport Association of Connecticut (MTAC) Annual Meeting! This year’s conference will be at a NEW LOCATION, the Four Points Sheraton in Meriden, Connecticut. The conference will happen on the last Thursday in October as usual, October 26, 2017.

MTAC is pleased to announce Steve Andrews as the keynote speaker for this year’s meeting. Steve is a Senior Vice President in Webster Bank’s Treasury & Payment Solutions Group. As keynote speaker, he will speak on the state of the economy, including a review of recent developments, and a look at where the economy could be headed.

Steve has over 30 years of experience in Capital Markets, the last 25 of which were devoted to consulting and advising corporate clients on managing their exposure to interest rate risk. He joined Webster Bank after 14 years at Sovereign Bank / Santander, where he also served as the bank’s economist. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Steve has taught classes on derivative products in the MBA programs at Boston College and Harvard, and has presented to various industry forums.

This year’s conference will also feature educational seminars. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Division Administrator Chris Henry will teach a class on complying with the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) rule, discuss the Entry Level Driver Training Rule, and touch on other relevant industry rules and regulations.

MTAC partners at the Sinclair Risk and Financial Management firm will teach a class on how to improve safety and control worker’s compensation costs. Additionally, Lieutenant Don Bridge from CT DMV’s Commercial Vehicle Safety Division will conduct a demonstration on commercial truck inspections, along with MTAC’s safety and compliance consultant Mike Glinski.

Come learn about what law enforcement looks for during roadside inspections. This year’s meeting will once again have a trade show, which is a great way to learn about innovative new products and services that will improve safety and efficiency.
