Brake training classes that will be held at the MTAC building have been scheduled for fall of 2017.

Federal regulations require that any employee responsible for brake inspections, maintenance, service, or repairs on any commercial motor vehicle must understand the brake service or inspection task to be accomplished. The best way to do that is through “participation in a training program sponsored by a brake or vehicle manufacturer or similar commercial training program.” (FMCSR 396.25).

Air System Seminar – Sept. 19, 2017

The Sept. 19 class has been canceled. Increase your knowledge and decrease your stopping distances by joining MTAC and Fleet Pro® at their Air System Seminar. Stopping begins with a good understanding of how the air system on board a truck works. If you can’t correctly identify and repair problems in this system, you can’t call your vehicle safe.

In this seminar you will learn component identification and function from the air compressor to the brake chamber. Using state-of-the-art technology, the course will cover the troubleshooting and repair of the charging system, the primary system, the secondary system, and the park/emergency system. Learn whether the compressor needs service or replacement. Get the inside information on air de-icers, after-coolers, and air dryers. Learn how to properly clean a system after a failure has occurred and understand the function of the Treadle Pedal, the Inversion Valve, and the Bobtail Proportioning Valve.

Commercial Brake Seminar – Oct. 10, 2017

In this class, FleetPro® takes you right into the wheel, the foundation of your braking system. Mechanics will come to understand how today’s modern air commercial brake systems work and learn to properly diagnose and repair brake problems. Drivers will gain a working knowledge of the most important system in their truck and learn how to perform roadside adjustments correctly.
