MTAC invites all interested parties to join us via Zoom on Friday, May 14 at 10 a.m. to hear from the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) as they present the results of their new report detailing the costs of deploying and operating a national vehicle miles traveled (VMT) tax system. What kind of hardware and/or software would be required to administer a VMT on a national level? What would it cost to administer a national VMT? ATRI’s research has answers to those questions and more.
ATRI will also recap some of their recent research regarding a state-imposed mileage tax, the New York Ton-Mile Tax. How much does it cost the State of New York to collect it? What is the estimated evasion or non-compliance rate of New York’s Ton-Mile Tax? ATRI’s studies address these issues.
