Senior officials from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will give a presentation to MTAC members on the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) rule via Zoom on Dec. 14 at 10 a.m.

The ELDT rule sets the baseline for training requirements for entry-level drivers. This includes those applying to:

  • Obtain a Class A or Class B CDL for the first time.
  • Upgrade an existing Class B CDL to a Class A CDL; or
  • Obtain a school bus (S), passenger (P), or hazardous materials (H) endorsement for the first time.

The ELDT rule will become effective on Feb. 7, 2022. Register to attend this presentation from FMCSA which will go over what the Entry Level Driver Training rule requires.
