Detour Notice – Downtown Crossing project in New Haven

Beginning on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, and lasting until mid-2023, a detour route for tri-axle trucks will be in place in New Haven to safely accommodate construction of a new research lab at 101 College Street, as part of the Downtown Crossing project.

All Tri-axle trucks will be prohibited from using the Service Drives to access the Yale-New Haven Hospital and 100 College Street loading docks during this period. This will impact tri-axle trucks that typically take Exit 1 from I-91 South and Exit 47 from I-95 North or South.

Tri-axle trucks that violate the detour and enter the Service Drives will not be able to access the Yale-New Haven Hospital or 100 College Street loading docks and will be forced to turn around. Because of construction, space will be limited and turning around will be very difficult.
