From Connecticut DMV.

Since the initial launch of the system the agency has continued to enhance the system to provide the DMV with a fully operational system and a process that includes reporting capabilities.

Moving forward the agency plans to continue to have clear and consistent communication with customers and stakeholders about the new system and process. CDL renewal, downgrade, and other CDL notices that DMV mails out have already been updated with the new information and a targeted email to CDL holders and motor carriers is planned. The infographic will be included as an insert in CDL renewal notices as well made available digitally on our website and by email. As information is dispersed, DMV will gradually phase out the other ways in which medical documents are received (such as in person, regular email, and fax).

Individuals can access this service from the DMV Medical Requirements webpage which links directly to the Medical Certification System.

Motor carriers can also use this new function by logging into the Connecticut Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO) Portal – the one-stop-shop for conducting commercial motor vehicle business.

The attached infographic visually explains the process and was created to assist customers with submitting the medical documents to DMV.
