Connecticut DMV message regarding IRP

The following notification was sent by the Connecticut DMV on Nov. 23 to Connecticut International Registration Plan (IRP) carriers.

Connecticut International Registration Plan (CT IRP) is implementing a new system to process IRP applications. The anticipated implementation date is mid-December, 2018. If this date is changed, we will notify you immediately.

Upcoming Changes for Connecticut IRP

• We are treating all IRP customers as businesses and everyone will be receiving their renewal documentation via e-mail. We encourage you to set up an email account in the near future so you will be prepared when the new system is implemented. Please contact us at (860) 263-5281.
• Payment for all open invoices must be received in the IRP office by December 12, 2018.
• Due to the system conversion, the IRP window will be closed to customers on December 14, 2018.
• After we have gone through our stabilization period, we will be offering new web options which will allow you to better manage your accounts without having to visit the Wethersfield DMV. We will supply you with additional information when these options become available in 2019.
