The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has announced that they have issued a 90 day extension for credentials expiring between August 1 and September 30. A copy of this announcement from DMV can be seen here.

This news follows a couple of previous extensions issued by DMV. First, credentials that expired between March 10, 2020 and June 30, 2020 were extended by 180-days. Secondly, credentials that expire between July 1, 2020 and July 31, 2020 are extended by 90-days.

Even with these extensions, MTAC encourages members to begin the renewal process for extended credentials as soon as possible. In-person transactions at the DMV are being done by appointment only, and the appointments have been filling up fast. Appointments can be made online at Connecticut’s DMV web portal.

MTAC recently provided a recap of actions by state and federal governments to extend credentials, and how members can act to ensure they renew credentials.
