To better communicate our efforts in the upcoming 2023 legislative session, we will be hosting “Tuesday Trucker Call” on weekly basis. This call will be a virtual meeting held every Tuesday at 10 a.m. to discuss that week’s legislative agenda as it relates to the transportation industry.
We will update you all on proposed bills, bills being tracked, executive orders, committee meetings, public hearings, agendas, legislative engagements and more.
Most importantly, the “Tuesday Trucker Call” will allow us to gain better knowledge and expertise from you to advocate your concerns more effectively daily during the legislative session.
The following are some policy priorities we have identified for the legislative session:
- Highway Use Tax
- Diesel Tax
- EV decarbonization
- Workforce development (CDL Training)
- CDL tuition assistance
- Safety concerns – parking and hours of service
- Fuel assistance programs
The above is certainly not an exhaustive list of policies we will engage in 2023. We expect there to be many other legislative proposals we will confront.
